A Little Time and a Keyboard: Cute Online Santa Activities

Cute Online Santa Activities

Friday, December 16, 2011

There are some really cute Christmas websites out there!  A couple that I have found are Northpole.com, the Norad Santa Tracker, Claus.com, ElfYourself, Portable North Pole, Primary Games Christmas and the Reindeer Cam.

On Northpole.com, you will find "Santa's Secret Village" hosting a number of holiday crafts, games, and recipes.  On this site, your child can write a letter to Santa.  Santa will respond to your child online! You can also print out a personalized holiday story.  There are even stories to read and a "Disco Dancing Santa."  It is a fun site to explore!

Claus.com has more holiday fun with an Elf School where you can receive an Elf Diploma, a Reindeer Barn where you can meet each reindeer, and a toy shop where you can see how the toys are made. There is a lot to do at Claus.com.

The Norad Santa Tracker site has a countdown to Santa's arrival.  It has a "Countdown Village" where children can play holiday games.  A new game is revealed each day of the countdown thereby adding to the anticipation.  On Christmas Eve, children can watch as Santa's ride is tracked throughout the world.  The site also has video messages from people that help track Santa as well as children throughout the world.

ElfYourself is a pretty jazzy website via OfficeMax. Using your webcam or photos, you can make your family into "elves." For fun, you can have your "elves" dance to music selected from a few options. This is guaranteed to garner some giggles!

On Portable North Pole, you can create a free message from Santa to your kids. The little ones will be delighted to receive a message from the big man. {You can skip the add-ons for $.}

Primary Games has a large selection of free online Christmas games. There are puzzle games, drawing games, pile up games, memory games and more. Fun cheer for free!

Reindeer Cam has Santa's Official Reindeer Live Feed. Kids can watch the reindeer relax as they wait for their ride. Santa also makes an appearance now and then. A nice list is displayed. There are instructions on the website on how to get onto the nice list.

If you are looking for something that delves more into the history of holidays and traditions, take a look at the History Channel. The History Channel has an amazing amount of information and videos about holidays.

All of these sites are perfect for adding a little more fun and amazement to your holidays!
