Website Wednesday: AH Moms

After living in Chicago's Northwest suburbs for almost 9 years (how did that happen!?!), 7 with a child, I am glad that there is an awesome website where moms and organizations can come together and share their local knowledge.  Let me tell you, when my daughter was young, there were many times when I absolutely had no idea what to do!  Everyday, I am discovering activities and venues that would have been fun to take my daughter to when she was younger but I had no idea they existed.

AH Moms is a site that allows moms and organizations sto hare what is going on around the burbs, ask for advice, and share ideas.  I love the site because it gives moms in the area somewhere to share information so that we can all learn from each other without having to reinvent the wheel.  Lets face it, none of us have the time to perform endless online searches to find somewhere to take our little ones.  It is nice to have a place to look for ideas!  Also, AH Moms is interactive and allows moms and organizations to be a part of it.  It really adds a community feel that is sometimes lost in this day and age.

I recommend that everyone check out the site--even if you are not local.  I think that other communities could benefit from the same type of site.  You can sign up to be a member or follow on Facebook.  The creator of the site, Mary Whalen has done an awesome job!  My only wish--that the site had been around when my daughter was younger!
