A Little Time and a Keyboard: The Beach at New Buffalo, Michigan

The Beach at New Buffalo, Michigan

Saturday, May 12, 2012

I realized that I have not posted any pictures of the beach in New Buffalo, Michigan. Being a New Jersey transplant, warm weather means beach weather to me, so I cannot wait to hit the beach this year. Of course, I would love to go to New Buffalo for a visit!

The beach in New Buffalo is free. If you stay at the Harbor Grand, where Kat stayed a few weeks ago, the beach is within walking distance. If you park at the beach, there is a parking fee.

There is a playground near the beach. Lifeguards are on the beach Memorial Day - Labor Day from 10AM-6PM. There is also a concession area.  Additionally, there are numerous restaurants within walking distance. And, of course, there is ice cream!

Near the beach, you can also feed some ducks and geese. We have also spotted some fish hiding in the reeds near the marina. I love New Buffalo because it is family friendly, scenic, and low key!

  1. I actually live in Northwest, Indiana and we often visit New Buffalo! Have you been to Redamaks? It's one of our favorite food place there! I live pretty close to the lake so I really enjoy being able to go to the beach over the summer! I'm a new follower by the way!

  2. We haven't been to Redamaks yet. We usually go to Brewster's, the Stray Dog, or Schu's in St. Joseph. Love it up there!
