With the holiday and summer break for my daughter approaching, my head is really a mess this week! While I am sure there will be moments over the summer when I cannot wait for my daughter to go back to school, I also am excited to see her run out of school next week, all full over energy ready to take on summer!
I did find a few events this weekend that seem to be interesting.
On Friday, June 1, Panera in Buffalo Grove (1224 W Dundee) has a game night from 6:30PM-7:30PM. People who win at bingo will win Panera prizes! They will also be holding game nights June 15 and June 29.
There are a number of events on June 2. Creatively Caring will be holding an event at the River Trail Nature Center in Northbrook about respecting wildlife at 10:30 AM. There will be a lot of great info and a craft. The event is free and you can add a nice hike through the preserve after!
Over in Palatine, there will be a Dog-Walk-A-Thon at the Plum Grove Reservoir from 12:00PM-4:00PM on Saturday. A $5 entry fee is asked and will benefit Placing Paws.
Glenbrook North's band will be playing at the Village Green from 12:30PM-2:30PM on Saturday. So, if you are planning on taking the kiddos to the park on Saturday, that may make for a nice outing!
Also, the Indian Trails Public Library will be hosting a Puzzle Exchange from 2:00PM-3:00PM on Saturday. This may be a good way to exchange old puzzles for new ones to add some challenges to summer!
The Chicago Botanic Garden will be hosting World Environment Day on Saturday. There will be a number of activities for all ages showing how to protect the Earth through awareness and action. Tom Skilling will be speaking at 10:30 AM. Tickets are required for the Tom Skilling event, so you will need to check with the Chicago Botanic Garden about availability.
