Wednesday Weekend Windup

Some call this weekend the last weekend of the summer. I say let the weather decide! However, remember that many pools and beaches close after this weekend (if they haven't already), so be sure to get out there if you love some water fun!

There are tons of festivals in the area for the long weekend!

Buffalo Grove Days will be running August 30 - September 3rd. Check the official website for details about times and all of the fun including music, food, a business fair, arts & crafts, a carnival, and more.

There are a couple of Civil War events in the area. Taylor's Battle Company B will be at the Vernon Area Public Library on Saturday at 1:00PM-1:30PM to discuss the use of cannons in the war. There will also be a cannon on display.

September 1-3 marks Septemberfest time in Schaumburg. The festival will feature the Taste of Schaumburg, music, rides, games, arts and crafts and more. Check the official websites for the schedule.

Also, September 1-3 marks the Long Grove World Tour in Long Grove. There will be a range of entertainment and food selections representing many cultures. This festival does seem packed with a range of unique experiences. Check out the website for more details.

If you love ambling through Art Fairs, there is Art Fair on the Square at Market Square in Lake Forest from 10:00AM-5:00PM on September 2-3. The Art Fair is a juried art show with demonstrations and children's booths.
