Wednesday Weekend Windup

The trees are starting to turn vibrant colors. With the sunny weather we have been having lately, our whole area has truly been lit up with these colors. I love when fall presents itself so gloriously. Let's hope it keeps up!

Fall Festival season is in full swing. This is a busy and fun time of year! Both Goebbert's (Hampshire and South Barrington) and Didier's (Prairie View) have started their pumpkin festivals, so get out there to have some fun! So far, this weekend looks like it will be nice. In my experience, the crowds have been better at the beginning of the season. However, with the weather being so nice, I would recommend going to the pumpkin festival early.

Long Grove will be hosting its Apple Festival this weekend. The Apple Festival has been a family favorite for years! In celebration of the apple harvest, there will be all sorts of tasty apple treats available. Additionally, there will be live music. Admission is $5 for adults and kids 12 and older. With the $5 admission, you do get a certificate for $5 off of a $25 purchase at a Long Grove merchant from October 1, 2012 - December 23, 2012.

Naper Settlement in Naperville is still holding its "Hot Time in Old Town" festivity and is focusing on fire safety. There will be fire pumping demonstrations, bucket brigades, fire gear try-ons and more as participants learn about fire safety. From 12PM-4PM on Saturday the 29th, Naper Settlement will hold a Firefighter's Appreciation Day where you can observe artifacts, see past and present equipment and more. Naper Settlement will be open 10AM-4PM on Saturday and 1PM-4PM Sunday.  Admission is $12/adult, $8/kids 4-12, $10/seniors, free general admission for Naperville residents with proof of residency.

Baby Loves Disco is coming to Northbrook Court on Sunday the 30th. The event is free but you must obtain tickets from H&M in the mall in order to participate. There will be a DJ, face painting, tattoos, mini manis, crafts, and more. H&M will have tickets until supplies run out and there is a maximum of 4 per person.  The event will be from 1PM-4PM in the lower level near Macy's.
