A Little Time and a Keyboard: Brunch at The Clubhouse: Every Visit Feels Like a Special Occasion

Brunch at The Clubhouse: Every Visit Feels Like a Special Occasion

Friday, February 22, 2013

Whether you are celebrating something or not, brunch at The Clubhouse in Oak Brook will make you feel special. Of all of the brunch locations that we have been to in the suburbs, The Clubhouse is the only one that we return to whenever the opportunity arises.

My husband and I are not normally buffet people. However, there is just something about The Clubhouse's brunch that really resonates with us. When it comes to brunch, the hubby is more of a breakfast food type of guy and I am more of a lunch food type of a girl. So, brunches can be difficult for us if they are breakfast heavy or vice versa. The Clubhouse brunch has plenty of choices for both breakfast and lunch, making it appealing to both of us.

The brunch is set up with a couple of buffet lines and a separate omelet station, making it less congested. One buffet line has hot items that range from pancakes to breakfast potatoes to vodka pasta to orange glazed salmon to chicken fricassee. The cold buffet line has a number of salads, grilled veggies, a cheese display, shrimp, and crab claws. By the omelet station, there is also a carving station. To round everything out, there is a children's station with such favorites as chicken fingers and mac and cheese. (BTW--the chicken fingers are numptious!)

My daughter loves the brunch as well. So, we have no whining about not liking something, blah, blah, blah. She is easily able to load her plate. Since there are so many vegetation options, she actually ends up with a well-rounded meal.

After finishing the main portion of our meals, we love to head to the dessert display, of course! They display includes a chocolate fountain with marshmallows, pretzels, and strawberries as dippables. Additionally, there are numerous little tarts and pastries to choose from. Of course, there are few larger slices of cake as well. (I try my best to stay away from those!)

We always leave The Clubhouse's Brunch satiated. In warmer weather, we take a walk around Oak Brook Mall.

The brunch costs $29.95 per adult and $12 for those 6-12. Kids 5 and under are free. Prices do vary for special events. If you are interested in going, do consider joining their Valued Member program. We have been members for years. You earn points for each dollar spent. Once you earn 250 points, you receive a $25 food credit. You also receive food credits for your birthday and the anniversary of when you joined. Membership has really been worth it for us! There is a charge for joining. However, when we joined, we received a food credit when joining so it as a wash. Check with your server for info.
