A Little Time and a Keyboard: Maple Balsamic Reduction for Broccoli {Munchie Monday}

Maple Balsamic Reduction for Broccoli {Munchie Monday}

Monday, May 20, 2013

We eat a lot of steamed broccoli in our house. A LOT OF STEAMED BROCCOLI! We love it, but some times it is nice to change things up a little bit. We made a little maple balsamic reduction to liven things up a little today!

Ingredients:

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1 Tbsp maple syrup
1 scallion, minced
1 tsp dried tarragon
broccoli

Directions:

Boil balsamic vinegar and maple syrup with the scallions on medium low heat. After 3 minutes, add the tarragon. Boil another 3-4 minutes, until the sauce has thickened a little bit. While you are working on the sauce, steam broccoli so that it is ready for the sauce. To serve, spoon a little of the reduction onto the broccoli.

**Note: I have seen quite a few recipes for similar reductions. Many of them incorporate equal parts of maple syrup and balsamic vinegar. We found this to be too sweet, so we reduced the maple syrup.
