Yesterday---isn't that when we began the summer! I can't believe that summer is winding down so soon. I guess the recent spike in temperatures makes it especially difficult to believe! I am sure that everyone has a bunch of fun planned for this weekend. BBQs, pool parties and picnics----oh my! Predictably, there are a ton of festivals in the area and many other fun activities to take part in. Here is a look at the ones that we found interesting:
Thursday, August 29
Buffalo Grove Days will be in swing in Buffalo Grove from Thursday through Monday. The event will include a carnival, an arts and crafts fair, a dog show, food, music,
puppet shows and more! Admission is free. Be sure to check the website for price of wristbands for the carnival rides.
Friday, August 30
Naperville will be hosting the Last Fling through Monday. The fling will include music, a family fun land, carnival, contests and more. Check the website for schedule and ticket prices.
Saturday, August 31
Whole Foods Market in Northbrook will be holding an Anniversary Celebration from 8AM-10PM. The departments will have special
displays for their 6th anniversary. There will also be a corn roaster. The event is free and you can get your shopping done, too!
Kline Creek Farm in West Chicago will have its Country Fair on Saturday and Sunday from 10AM-4PM. The old fashioned fair will include games, antique equipment, flea circus and more. The event is free.
Long Grove Heritage Days will be a fun event in Long Grove Saturday through Monday from 10AM to 6PM. The fun will include live music and dancing representing different
nationalities. There also will be family games, food and more. Most events are scheduled between 12PM and
4PM. Be sure to check the schedule. Admission is free.
Septemberfest will be held in Schaumburg Saturday through Monday. The festival will include arts & crafts fair, carnival rides, family activities, parade, music and more. The Taste of Schaumburg
will run Saturday and Sunday. Check the schedule
for times and the price for carnival rides. Admission is free!
There will be a Civil War Encampment at Graue Mill in Oak Brook Saturday and Sunday from 11AM-4PM. The event will include firing demonstrations, drills,
cooking and more. Admission to the museum is $4.50 per adult, $4 per senior, $2 per child and free for those 3 and under.
**Also, remember that this is the last weekend for the Bristol Renaissance Faire! The Faire will be open Saturday - Monday!
