Treasures near Ogilvie Station

On our trip to Skydeck Chicago, we also explored some of the area near Ogilvie Station. Of course, we had to stop at the French Market and found it to be quite the spot for lunch. There is an eclectic mix of options for a quick bite. If you are just looking for some interesting epicurean items to bring home, you will find the market a worthwhile stop.

You can see that the French Market is a fun, vibrant place to walk through:

This bakery had macaroons. But, I found the bikini cookies to be different:

Macaroons, tea, gelato, sushi, pho, crepes and more, you will enjoy a trip to the market. The French Market has a very inviting atmosphere and definitely is a welcome change of pace from shopping for food at the grocery store. With so many choices, everyone in the family can find something yummy. The market is open from 7AM-7:30PM M-F and 8:30AM-5:30PM on Saturday. Vendors may have their own hours. I am always disappointed when I am in the city on a Sunday and it is closed!

While walking around outside the station, we stumbled upon the Naked Juice Power Garden. The Power Garden is a fun little vegetable garden where you can interact with the plants. How do you interact, you may say---look below and you will see:

The girls loved playing around the garden for a bit. The unexpected treasures are sometimes the best!
