Wednesday Weekend Windup {fall times are here}

Loving this weather! I can't wait for the trees to turn bright colors! There are so many fun fall events to enjoy. My daughter keeps having activities on the weekend, so we have not been able to enjoy too many yet. However, this weekend it looks like we may finally have some spare time. {As long as she finishes her project....}

Here is some fun that we found:

Friday, September 27

Apple Fest returns to Long Grove this weekend from 10AM-6PM Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The festivities will include apple-inspired treats, live entertainment, pony rides, face painting, special deals and more. Admission to the event is $5 per person.

Saturday, September 28

Want to get up close and personal with an Alpaca? The Safehouse Farm in Barrington is hosting Alpaca Farm Days from 10AM-4PM on Saturday and Sunday. Meet alpacas, make crafts, go on tours and more! The event is free. There will be items made from alpaca wool available for sale.

Crystal Lake will be holding its Johnny Appleseed Festival from 9AM-4PM in Saturday. You have a chance to meet Johnny Appleseed at Raue Center from 11AM-1PM. There will be live entertainment including Radio Disney, a craft fair, games and rides, demonstrations, a pie baking contest, scarecrow building, a great ball race and more. Admission is free. Tickets are available to purchase for rides. See website for schedule.

Head to Northbrook Court Saturday or Sunday for the Festival of Pianos from 11AM-6PM. There will be hundreds of local pianists playing throughout the weekend including students and teachers from the Northwest Suburban Music Teachers Association. Northbrook Court will also be holding giveaways. The event is free!

You can Build your own Scarecrow at Wagner Farm in Glenview from 12PM-3PM. Bring the kids and some old clothes. The farm will provide the pumpkin, hay and know-how. The event costs $5 per scarecrow.

Randhurst Village will be holding a Family Fest in front of Charming Charlie from 1:00PM-3:30PM,. There will be free live entertainment including ScribbleMonster and karate demonstrations.

Sunday, September 29

Visit the Crabtree Nature Center in Barrington for Art in Nature from 10AM-4PM. Watch artists paint in nature, listen to music, try your hand at water colors or even purchase art. Admission is free!
