If you are looking for Halloween fun this weekend, there is plenty to go around. The weather does look a bit iffy this weekend. Hopefully, it will turn around for all of this fun! Fortunately, some of these events are indoors. So, there will be fun to be had whatever the weather!
We hope to hit an event or two this weekend. Of course, we also would love to work on some more pumpkin carving and baking as well! Fun weekend!
Friday, October 18
There will be a Halloween Spooktackular at Park Center in Glenview from 5:30PM-8:00PM. The event includes a magic show, inflatables, a balloon
artist, games, a costume contest, pizza and more. Admission costs $6 per child (ages 2-10) and adults are free.
Twin Lakes in Palatine will have a Harvest Hayride both Friday and Saturday evening at various times. You will have stories read as you ride. The stories
are spookier during later rides. S'mores and hot chocolate will be
waiting for your at the bonfire. You must pre-register. The event costs $5 per person. Call 847-259-6890 for more information.
Saturday, October 19
PetSmarts nationwide will be having a costume party from 9AM-11AM. The first 50 pets to arrive in
costume will receive a free goodie bag!
Wagner Farm in Glenview will have its Corn Harvest Festival on Saturday from 10AM-4PM. The event
will include corn picking by hand, wagon rides, farm activities, crafts and treats. The event costs $5 per person.
Kids 2 and under are free.
Wildlife Discovery Center in Lake Forest will be holding Croctoberfest from 10AM-2PM. Come to meet live crocs and work
on a scavenger hunt. There will also be face painting and more activities. There is a suggested $5
donation per person.
The Chicago Botanic Garden
will be holding the Spooky Pooch Parade from 11AM-1PM. We have attended
this event in the past and you will be amazed by the intricate
costumes! Besides the parade and costume contest, vendors and nonprofits
will be present. Tickets cost $14 for members and $19 for nonmembers in
advance, $20 and $25 respectively the day of. Tickets are per dog.
Parking at the Botanic Gardens is $25 per car.
Howlin' Halloween Fest will be at Lions Recreation Center in Mt. Prospect from 11AM-3PM.
The event will include a Halloween Hayride, a moonwalk, crafts, face painting and more. Admission is
$4 per child. Last ticket sale is at 2:15PM.
Red Oak Nature Center in Batavia will be holding a Fall Festival from 1:00PM-3:00PM. Enjoy fall colors and travel station to station in the woods to do crafts and activities. Parents must accompany children. The event is free!
Enjoy Hoots 'n Howls at Randhurst Village in Mt. Prospect from 11:30AM-5:00PM. There will be a
pet costume parade, pumpkin decorating, sand sculptures, face painting and more. The event is free!
Visit the Glass Pumpkin Patch Market at the Morton Arboretum from 10AM-5PM on Saturday and Sunday. Admission costs $12 for Adults ages 18–64, $11 for Seniors ages 65+, and
$9 for youth ages 2–17. (1 and under are free.), also check out the
scarecrows while you are there!
Learn Archery at Crabtree Nature Center in Barrington from 1:00PM-2:00PM.The free event is for those 10 and up!
Enjoy Halloween Fun at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library from 1:00PM-3:00PM. Come in costume for Halloween fun. The free event is drop-in!
Join Bentley's Corner Barkery in
Schaumburg for a Howl-o-ween Party from 2PM-4PM. Your dogs will have fun

Sunday, October 20
There will be a Fall Festival at River Trail Nature Center in Northbrook from 10AM-4PM. The autumn fun will include beekeeping demonstrations, hayrides and more. The event is free!
Take your pooches to the Hound Town Halloween Bash in Lippold Park in Crystal Lake from 2PM-4PM. Bring your dog in costume for
trick-or-treating. You can also bring treats for other pooches. The will be demonstrations,
a parade and a costume contest (3:45PM). The event is free!
Bentley's Corner Barkery in
Long Grove will be holding its Howl-o-ween Party from 2PM-4PM. The fun
will include a costume party, free treats and prizes! The event is free!
