Wednesday Weekend Windup {the one after Halloween}

This weekend seems a little bit quieter than the previous few. Who doesn't need a little breather after Halloween? Of course, this is the calm before the storm that we call the holidays.

Here are a few events we found in our area:

Friday, November 1

Shrek the Musical will be at Cutting Hall in Palatine Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Check the schedule for times. Tickets cost $18 for adults in advance, $20 at the door, $16 for students in advance, $18 at the door.

Saturday, November 2

The craft fairs are beginning! Palatine High School will have their  Fall Craft Fair from  9AM-4PM. There will be 150+ booths, concessions and raffles. The fair benefits Palatine High School. 

Pinkalicious is at the Northbrook Theater. Choose from 10AM and 1PM shows. Tickets are $12. You will need to purchase tickets online. There are not a ton left, so hurry!
  
Steve Beno Live! will be performing at Barbara's Book Market in The Glen Town Center of Glenview from 10:30AM-11:15AM. Steve Beno will strum his guitar with lively tunes. The event is particularly geared towards those 2-6. While the event is free, you must RSVP online.

Ready to play Life-sized Candy Land at the Des Plaines Public Library from 1:00PM-3:00PM? Roll the large dice and see where you land! There may be more physical challenges. The event is free and drop-in.

Visit the Mt. Prospect Public Library for Crafts for the Day of the Dead from 2:00PM-3:00PM. The event is for 2nd graders - 5th graders. While it is free, you must register. 

Get rid of those pumpkins at Pumpkin Smash and Bash at Flick Park Sled Hill in Glenview from 3:30PM-4:30PM. There will be a pumpkin rolling competition. You will also smash pumpkins to use for compost. Be sure to remove candles & glow sticks first. The event is free!

 Sunday, November 3
Visit the Winter Farmers Market at Chicago Botanic Garden from 10AM-2PM. The event costs $25 for parking for nonmembers. It is free for members.
