A Little Time and a Keyboard: National Geographic's Animal Jam: A Fun and Educational Game

National Geographic's Animal Jam: A Fun and Educational Game

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

Animal Jam is an adorable game by National Geographic. Your kids can create their own animals and go on adventures. I played around a little with this game this afternoon and I can tell you that there are a few things that I really like about it over others that I have played with my daughter. During the sign up process, National Geographic reminds kids about internet safety. Then, kids are reminded about internet safety like not revealing passwords, etc., throughout the game. I love this because kids often get sidetracked and caught up in the game--thus, letting their guard down! Being that this game is by National Geographic, there is also plenty of opportunity for kids to learn about animals while playing. In the Daily Explorer, a specific animal is featured. There also are animal movies and more. Since I am sure your kids are going to get a little stir crazy this winter, I thought I would introduce this free game that is fun and educational to you. You can click the banner below to check it out for yourself. I always recommend that parents check out a game before kids start playing them. That way, you can instruct your kids about internet safety in relation to the particular site and you have approved the content!
