A Little Time and a Keyboard: St. Joseph Annual Magical Ice Fest: Frosty Fun This Weekend in Michigan

St. Joseph Annual Magical Ice Fest: Frosty Fun This Weekend in Michigan

Thursday, February 6, 2014

One of my favorite festivals in the Magical Ice Fest in St. Joseph, Michigan. The artistry of the ice carvers at the festival is just breathtaking. I cannot believe what they can carve out of a block of ice! For me, winter is pretty bleak and this one has certainly been particularly harsh. Fun festivals like this one make it easier to get through winter! I thought I would share some photos from last year's festival.

Take a look at the wonders:

How do they do it:

If you are wondering how the carvers can craft such wonders, the Magical Ice Fest includes live carving demonstrations. They have a few tents around town where you can watch these ice magicians in action!

Admittedly, the festival can be quite chilly. However, St. Joseph has a collection of cute stores to peruse for a little warm up {and even some retail therapy}. Plus, there are a few cafes perfect for picking up a coffee or a hot cocoa.

Tempted?

The Magical Ice Festival is this weekend {February 7-9, 2014}. You can head over to St. Joseph Today for more information about this year's festival. I also wrote a post for Family Rambling detailing how we spirit up to Michigan for a little rejuvenation in the winter.
