Wednesday Weekend Windup {Time for Sweets for the Sweet}

How about the snow today? I think that my car's "no traction" light is permanently on. Since it is February, I am really hoping that we are closer to the end of this mess than the beginning. When the kids no longer want to play in the snow, you know that we have had quite a winter! But, with all the pink and red circling for Valentine's Day, how can you not be happy! {Of course, some chocolate can help!}

I bet a lot of you are itching to get out this weekend! Here are some ideas for fun in the area:

Thursday, February 6

Now through February 16, engage in Gyotaku Fish Printing at Kohl Children's Museum in Glenview. You will have fun learning a traditional Japanese form of painting. Times vary daily so check the website. Admission is $9.50 per adult or child, $8.50 for seniors, under 1 year old free. Kohl Children's Museum is one of our favorite indoor attractions! Great for winter--fun and educational!

If you are in the mood for a little drive, Lake Geneva will be having its
WinterFest and US National Snow Sculpting Competition, through February 8. I have never been to a snow sculpting competition before so this sound pretty cool! Besides the snow sculpting, there will be magic, s'mores, human dog sled competition, beach party and plenty more. Check the schedule before you go to see what's happening!
Friday, February 7

What celebrates winter better than an Ice Festival? Downer's Grove will be holding its Ice Festival Friday-Sunday. There will be live ice carvings, Radio Disney on Saturday afternoon, a magician on Sunday afternoon and specials at stores and restaurants. Check out the website for the schedule and more details.
