Jerseys Pizza and Grill: A Delicious Find for Families Full of Surprises

**Disclosure: We did read a complimentary meal in order to perform an accurate review. No other compensation was received. All opinions are 100% our own.

Last week, we had the pleasure of visiting Jerseys Pizza and Grill in Hoffman Estates to learn a little more about the establishment and their array of promotions that will certainly make families smile. Jerseys is a bit tucked away on Lakewood Blvd, slightly off of Barrington Road. The building does look pretty sleek compared to other restaurants and the overall layout of interior of the restaurant is just as nice and airy as the outside. Jerseys definitely was worth diverging off of Barrington Road for.

Jerseys does often get tagged as a sports bar and was in fact named Best Sports Bar in the Northwest Suburbs. Of course, you can see that the large and well-placed big screens truly make it the place to watch a game. However, we found the establishment to be a bit more polished than your average sports bar. Additionally, Jerseys has an ample menu that goes beyond standard bar fare and has many kids programs. When owner Gregg Majewski opened up Jersey's, he opened up with a family hangout in mind.  Indeed, we found Jersey's to be a fun place for a family meal!

Fun programs and incentives for kids

Of course, being a savvy mom, I love when businesses have little extras for families. I especially love when they reward children for positive behavior. Jersey's has a Read to Win program that rewards children 13-years-old and younger for reading for at least five hours or five books during a month. Once your child has accomplished this, you can help them print out a certificate to bring to Jerseys for a free kid's meal. Easy, peasy and your kid earned it reading! Jerseys does have a nice kids menu with seven choices. Plus, you can substitute fries with fruit if you like and opt for milk instead of soda. A fun treat!

Jerseys also has an MVP Program for children in organized sports. As part of the MVP, Jerseys works with coaches to award a player as an MVP at the end of each game. Chosen MVPs win a free kids meal! Jerseys works with coaches to make sure all kids are included.

Yumptious Food

The food--honestly, we were surprised. First, we were totally overwhelmed by the menu. So many choices! After some suggestions, we tried the onion rings and the classic, boneless wings. I had the Southwestern Chop Salad, my daughter sampled a personal size pizza with peppers and the hubs had the Italian Beef. Something to note about the food---almost everything is made in house including the dressings! So many places rely on frozen items, so that was great to hear! We tried the onion rings and loved them! They had a nice buttermilk breading, a little different than other places.

Take a look at the wings! There are several sauces to choose from but I am a traditionalist so we went with Classic and weren't disappointed!

I was amazed by my Mt. Everest of a salad! Everything was fresh and the grilled chicken was well executed. The Southwestern Lime dressing provided for a welcome zing!

My daughter enjoyed a pizza with peppers, bacon and pepperoni. She says it was: "Yum, yum delicious!"

The hubs devoured the Italian Beef. He has not enjoyed an Italian Beef in awhile, so it was a nice surprise!

Specials Galore and More!

Don't forget to take a peek at Jerseys Specials. They have a special Family Night on Tuesdays with any Large Pizza and Appetizer for $19.99 {with a few exclusions}. There are a number of other specials, including drink specials for the 'rents, so check it out! During March Madness, kids 10 and under who make a basket on an NCAA game day will win a free kids' meal. {The basket is low, so I have it on good authority that a number of kids can win!}Specials for all!

Jerseys also works with school booster clubs and charities to raise money. In fact, Jerseys is hosting an event on April 26, 2014 to benefit St. Baldrick's! If your organization is interested in an event, definitely think about Jerseys. They even make homemade donuts for their events and the proceeds from the donuts are donated to your organization! Cool!

I am glad that we took some time to venture off of our normal path to take a look at Jerseys. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We were very surprised by all Jerseys had to offer including their promotions for families and area organizations. With Spring Break around the corner, you may want to add Jerseys to your list. Plus, if you end up there on NCAA game day--your kids may win a free meal if they make a basket. Sweet!

Jerseys Pizza and Grill is located at 2360 Lakewood Blvd in Hoffman Estates, IL.
