Wednesday Weekend Windup: {Ho, Ho, Holidays!}



One of the things I absolutely love about this time of year is there is so much to do! January gets a bit more challenging but fortunately, I have heard buzz about a few promising events. The next few weeks, however, we will enjoy all of the great doings that are happening right now! Here are some picks for this weekend:

Thursday, December 11
  • December 11-14 Holiday Store, The Grove, Glenview, purchase items handcrafted by local artists, 10AM-5PM, free!
Saturday, December 13
  • December 13-14 Brunch with Santa at Circa 57, Arlington Heights, 9AM-1PM, Adults $19.57, Kids 11-15 $14.57, Kids 3-10 $9.57, Under 3 Free, make a reservation
  • December 13-14 LEGO Train Show, Cantigny Park, Wheaton, 9AM-4PM, free with $5 parking, parking free waived if you bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots
  • December 13&20 Free Holiday Tours of Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio, Oak Park, 9:00AM-11:00AM, home is decorated for the holidays, tours run continuously
  • December 13 Free showing of Elf, York Theatre, Elmhurst, 9:30AM-1:00PM, free elf hats, Santa and Mrs. Claus in the plaza after movie
  • December 13 Ice Cream Cone Decorating, Mariano's, 10AM-2PM, decorate an ice cream cone to make it look like a Christmas tree or a hat, free!

  • December 13-14 Holiday Express, Blackberry Farm, Aurora, 2PM-6PM, holiday train decorated with twinkle lights, storytelling, reindeer food bar, Victorian Christmas lights, crafts, hayride to visit Santa, $5pp, under 2 free!
