Wednesday Weekend Windup {Festivals, the Bears, Stars, Kites and More!}



We have rounded the corner to the weekend! Time to plan some family fun! Here are our picks:

  • August 8 Hometown Picnic, Naper Settlement, Naperville, 12PM-4PM, bring along a picnic, chairs and blanket and enjoy an old fashioned baseball game, old fashioned games, apple pie contest and more, free with museum admission, $12 adult, $10 seniors (62+), 8 youth (4-12)
  • August 8-9  Theatre-Hikes: Clue the Musical, Morton Arboretum, 1PM, Theatre-Hikes are a great way to enjoy nature, a little exercise and theater! We have been to several theatre hikes and have enjoyed each of them! A theater experience like no other! The first Sunday of the month features a low impact hike. To learn a little more, read our post on Theatre-Hikes from last season! Tickets are $10 per adult, $5 per child for members, $20 and $10 respectively for non. Tickets include admission to the Morton Arboretum. Children under 2 are free.

  • August 9 CrEATefest, Bridgeport Art Center, Chicago, 10AM-5PM, day of arts and eats, dancing, live music, food trucks, art activities, art exhibitions and more, tickets start at $7, proceeds go to Changing Worlds which is a nonprofit providing art and cultural awareness programs across Chicagoland, you will get two tastes and a beverage with ticket purchase
  • August 9 French Connection Day, Cantigny Park, Wheaton, 10AM-4PM, French market, French music, mini Eiffel Tower, street performers, story time, kids art project and more, free admission, $5 parking
