Wednesday Weekend Windup {Here Comes Johnny Appleseed and more Fall Fun!}



Fall is here! Right now the weather looks FABULOUS for the weekend, so take advantage of one of these fun events:
ROAD TRIP: Party on the Pavement in Racine, Wisconsin. Party on the Pavement is one of our FAVORITE street festivals of the year! Amazing number of live music stages, art in action, kids activities, rides and more. Really a fun time for the family on September 26 12PM-7PM. See our fall weekend in Racine last year.

  • September 25 Family Bonfire, Northbrook YMCA, 6PM-8PM, sit around the bonfire making s'mores, karoake--parents vs kids contest, glow stick dance party, glow in the dark face paint, free!
  • September 25 Night at the Nature Center, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 7PM-9PM, meet a resident animal, check out artifacts usually safely tucked away, free

  • September 26-27  Theatre-Hikes: The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), Morton Arboretum, 1PM, Theatre-Hikes are a great way to enjoy nature, a little exercise and theater! We have been to several theatre hikes and have enjoyed each of them! A theater experience like no other! The first Sunday of the month features a low impact hike. To learn a little more, read our post on Theatre-Hikes from last season! Tickets are $10 per adult, $5 per child for members, $20 and $10 respectively for non. Tickets include admission to the Morton Arboretum. Children under 2 are free.

  • September 26 Nature Play Afternoon, Camp Reinberg, Palatine, 4PM-6PM, play in the nature play area, learn about animals and plants, explore camping programs, go on a hike, free
