The weekend is almost here! The weekend is almost here! Here are some ideas to keep the fam busy and sane!

  • October 9-11 Scarecrow Festival, St. Charles, scarecrow contest submissions to view, arts an crafts show, petting zoo, carnival and much more, see schedule for times
  • October 9-11 Peter Pan, Cutting Hall, Palatine, 7:30PM Fri & Sat, 2PM Sun, $18 per adult in advance, $20 at door, $16 students, seniors & children in advance, $18 at the door
  • October 9-11 Ghost Stories in the Park, Grand Pavilion River Walk, Naperville, Fri 7PM-8PM, Sat 6PM-7PM or 8PM-9PM, Sun 7PM-8PM, $7 cash pp at door, 5 and older
  • October 9-10 Oak Brook Haunted Forest, 6:30PM-9:30PM, tickets $1 a piece or 25 for $20, haunted maze, hayrides, pumpkins, face painting, crafts, candy in a haystack, fireside storytelling, bounce house, check website to see prices, some activities free others need tickets, maze does have spooky actors

  • October 10 Fall Fest, Cantigny Park, Wheaton, 10AM-5PM, hayrides, pumpkin sales, petting zoo, inflatables, craft show, live entertainment, some small fees for activities, $5 parking, free admission
  • October 10 Firehouse Open House, Fire Station 1, Arlington Heights, 10AM-2PM, fire safety house, equipment and informational displays, tours, face painting, games and more, free
  • October 10 Heritage Day, Fisher Farm, Bensenville, 10AM-4PM, candle making, pumpkin painting, petting zoo, pony rides, colonial reenactors and more, free admission, $5 wristband for kids for activities.
  • October 10 Scarecrow Fest, Memorial Park, Barrington, 11AM-2PM, pony rides, scarecrow, pumpkin and cookie decorating, live entertainment and more, free

  • Plus, don't forget to visit a pumpkin patch or apple orchard! Most will be open on Columbus Day!

  1. This was such a great list! I generally go to the St. Charles Scarecrow Fest ever year - this is the first year I've missed it in such a long time!

    1. We missed it too! There are scarecrows around the lake at Morton Arboretum plus they have LEGO sculptures right now and this weekend is their Glass Pumpkin Festival, so would be a nice trip. Thanks for stopping by and following along!
