Wednesday Weekend Windup {Spooky Weekend Ahead}


Boo! Plenty of tricks or treats, fun and hijinx for families this weekend!

ROAD TRIP: Midway Village in Rockford's All Hallow's Eve on October 24 2PM-8PM, Victorian Village will be decorated for Halloween, trick-or-treat in buildings, at 4:30PM enter the Enchanted Woods to see scenes from Robin Hood & meet characters, activities for kids, come in costume, free photo, $6 per person

  • October 23 Trunk-or-Treat, Public Works, Arlington Heights, 5:30PM-8:30PM, trick-or-treat line, bouncy houses, games, Mad Science experiments, crafts, $12 per child
  • October 23-24 Halloween Hikes, Ryerson Woods, Deerfield, 6PM-8PM, hike along a candlelit path and see nature-themed skits along the way, donuts and cider at the end, $9 resident, $11 non, register
  • October 23-24 Hawthorn Hill Woods Haunted Trail, Woodridge, Fri & Sat 6:30-9:30PM, Sat 1PM-3PM, hayride, trail with all sorts of ghouls, version for those under 9 available Sat afternoon, $8/evening session, $5 for afternoon

  • October 24 Free Dipped Apple with Donation, Affy Tapple, Niles, 9AM-2PM, get a fresh dipped apple or pretzel with canned food donation or $1, coloring contest, raffle and more
  • October 24 Youth 2K Obstacles Race Course, Woodland Trails Park, Mt. Prospect, 9:30AM-11:00AM, 10-14 natural and man made obstacles will be set up, age groups 7-8, 9-11, 12-14, different times for each, register by October 23 and race is $20, day off $25
  • October 24 Halloween Hoopla, Metropolitan Square, Des Plaines, 10AM-4PM, halloween parade, crafts, magic show, pumpkin races, Dia de los Muertos at History Center ($3/non member, $2 per member), see schedule for more details, free admission except at History Center
