Dreams and Premonitions: Chicken Soup for the Soul {Book Review}

Winter is the perfect time for catching up on reading. Every year, Chicken Soup for the Soul publishes a new selection of inspiring and motivating stories. My favorite volume each year is the one that focuses on messages from beyond. little whispers that inexplicably guide our actions in ways that change and quite possibly save our lives. So, I was eager to read this year's Dreams and Premonitions. And, yes, it did not disappoint!

I love having a volume like Dreams and Premonitions around because it really can provide an uplifting moment right when you need it. Some of these stories show you how that gut feeling, the one we can't explain, really can guide you to something wonderful. In one anecdote, the author is encouraged by a spirit in her dream to alter her travel plans. Thos alteration turns into a beautiful journey ending with her teaching healing, yoga and meditation--spreading her gifts and knowledge.

Who doesn't get the chills when reading an account of a dream or premonition that warns you of a future situation? In one account, the author recognizes a scene from a dream and narrowly avoids on oncoming truck because of this warning. Another author is comforted during a cancer scare through the comfort of a friend who visited her during a dream. In another story, an author keeps having dreams of three. Turns out, her sister is pregnant and her sister's family will now be three!

Really a wonderful book that was a delight to read! When we receive these signs in life, they can be quite a comfort, help us make sense of things or reframe our mind. Reading these intriguing depictions can also help us make sense of our own lives and resolve mysteries and situations about us.
