Wednesday Weekend Windup {Spring Weather Ahead!}

Spring is in the air! Birds have been singing outside my window all day today. Lovely to hear! With a wonderful Friday and Saturday forecast, it is time to get out this weekend! Sunday looks a little rainy in the morning but if it reaches the expected 46, I'll take it! Here are some fun ideas in the suburbs this weekend!
  • January 15-February 21 Enchanted Railroad at Morton Arboretum, 12 model trains traveling through the seasons, LEGO train car made of 2,500 bricks by artist Sean Kenney, free with Arboretum admission, get timed ticket at Visitor's Center, $9 Adults ages 18–64
    $8 Seniors ages 65+  $6 Youth ages 2–17 LAST WEEKEND
  • February 13-March 13 The Orchid Show, Chicago Botanic Garden, 10AM-4PM, enjoy a colorful and fragrant walk through the Chicago Botanic Garden's greenhouses, check for special events, $8/member, $10/non, kids and seniors are $6/$8 respectively, parking is $25, $20 if purchased online, check to see about special packages as well, check out our visit to The Orchid Show last year:

  • February 21 Wild Fest, LTHS East Campus, Lockport, 10AM-4PM, animal shows and petting opportunities, Big Run Wolf Ranch, Jim Nesci's Cold-blooded Creatures and more, vendors, concessions, $8 per adult, $5 per child 12 and under, $5 for HS/College Students with ID
  • February 21 Animal Tracks, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 1PM, learn how to identify animals by clues they have left behind, free
  • February 21 In Search of the Snow Flea, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, 1:30PM, hunt for snow fleas and learn about their habits, dress for the weather, free
