Dinosaur Bar-B-Que Chicago

A few years ago, we tried Dinosaur Bar-B-Que on a road trip through Syracuse, New York. Visiting Dino's was immediately on our list after seeing it on Man-vs-Food. So, we seized the opportunity to visit on a road trip from Chicago to Boston. After starting as a concession stand, Dino's launched into the restaurant business in Syracuse. Thus, Syracuse was the perfect location to try Dino's for the first time. When we arrived, there was a line out the door so we knew we were in for a treat. Needless to say we devoured our food! In 2014, a Dino's BBQ opened in Chicago and we knew we would have to visit. Last weekend, we finally had a chance to stop in for lunch!

We have been to quite a few barbecue places but I have to say one thing I really love about Dino's over others is it's large menu. With our family's collection of varying tastes, I find comfort in knowing there is something for everyone. Dino's was also very accommodating with our special requests during our visit. Nice plus!

Every time I visit I have the shrimp boil which has the right amount of spice. This shrimp boil is served cold, like a shrimp cocktail.

Along with the shrimp boil, I had Korean BBQ wings. Sweet and spicy goodness! These are the type of wings that can be addictive. Dino does have a variety of sauces, so feel free to experiment!

My husband went for the Pork-Sket which is a BBQ brisket layered with cheddar and jalapenos and topped with pulled pork, horsey mayo and coleslaw. He went with two sides--the BBQ beans and the cucumber salad. I had the cucumber salad which was simple yet a perfect addition to a BBQ plate. My husband loved his Pork-Sket and beans. He thought the Pork-Sket was super-tender and
delicious!

As you can see, we LOVE Dino BBQ! With all of the choices, family-friendly food and relaxed atmosphere, the restaurant is perfect for families. We always find a good barbecue joint to be a lot of fun--especially when there is a variety of sauce and meat options. With all of its other locations out East, we are happy Dino has moved to Chicago!
