Wednesday Weekend Windup: {Easter Eggs, Earth Day and More}

Spring is in full swing and Easter is this weekend! Here are some family fun events to enjoy:


Road Trip: Head to Racine for the International PEEPS Art Exhibition. The exhibition will run April 6-23, 2017. Admission to the RAM is $5 per adult, $3 per senior, $3 per student and free for children 12-years-old and under. The museum is free on the first Friday of the month. Hours are 10AM-5PM Tuesday-Saturday; 12PM-5PM on Sundays. The museum is closed on Federal Holidays and Easter.

  • April 15 Bird Tales Story Hour, Wildbird Shack, Mount Prospect
  • April 15 Hop Free Showing, Classic Cinemas, Elmhurst, 11AM, see the Easter Bunny in city center after, free
  • April 15 Easter Egg Hunt, Lake County Fairgrounds, 11:30AM sharp, 10,000 eggs will be hid, for ages 1-9, please bring your Easter basket, free but please bring a nonperishable food item for donation
  • April 15 Visit the Viking Ship,Templar Park, Geneva, ship is from 1893 World's Fair, 1PM-4PM, $5 adult, $3 teen, kids free
  • April 15 Free Trail Walk at The Grove, Glenview, 2PM
  • April 15 Party with Your Peeps, MB Financial Park, Rosemont, 1PM-6PM, Easter Bunny, face painting, balloon twisting, live music and more, free
Sunday, April 16:
  • April 16 Canyon Tours, Sagawau Environmental Learning Center, Lemont, 10AM, hiking on rough terrain and wading in streams necessary, registration by phone 630-257-2045, free
  • April 16 Family Drop In Day, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, 11AM-2PM, hands-on activities and crafts, free
  • April 16 Animal Babies, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 1PM, learn about the cute spring arrivals, free
