Time to plan your gardens! I love to plant natives here in my Chicago suburban home because the attract all sorts of butterflies and birds. Plus, they are pretty easy to take care of! Because they are prairie plants, they are tolerant to skipping a watering here and there. My best friends! Here is a look at some native plants sales in our area. Some do have the option to pre-order which I recommend taking advantage of. Head to the individual websites for more on pre-ordering:



April 22: Skokie Native Plant Sale at Earth Day Celebration

April 28 Wheaton Native Plant Sale: Public Works Building, 8:30AM-11:00AM

May 5-6: Citizens for Conservation Native Plants Sale at Good Shepherd Hospital in Lake Barrington, 9AM-3PM (pick up date for pre-orders is May 3)

May 12 Native Plant Sale, Lake Katherine, Palos Heights, 10AM-2PM

May 11-12: Native Plant Sale at Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook, 11AM-7PM May 12; 9AM-2PM May 1

May 12 McDonald Farm Plant Sale, Naperville, 8AM-1PM

May 12-13 Lake County Forest Preserves Native Plant Sale at Independence Grove, May 12 9AM-3PM, May 13 10AM-2PM; compost bins & rain barrels on May 12 only

 May 18- May 31: Conserve Lake County Sale at Almond Marsh in Grayslake, 9AM-3PM, closed Mondays & Tuesdays

May 20: Native Plant Sale by Schaumburg Community Garden Club held at Spring Valley Nature Center 10:00AM-2:00PM

June 2 Wild Ones West Cook, Oak Park, please pre-order by May 20 because they may run out quickly day of
