- June 22-???? Troll Hunt at The Morton Arboretum -- see large scale trolls being made from reclaimed wood. Free with admission.

- July 4-8 Northwest Fourth Fest, Sears Centre, Hoffman Estates, see schedule
Friday, July 6
- July 6-8 Libertyville Dog Days of Summer, Cook Park, Libertyville, dog jumping competition, dog centered events, vendors
- July 6 First Fridays at SideStreet Elgin, 4:15PM-9PM, art activities for kids, local artists,demos, local art events at quite a few locations, some small donations requested for some of the kids activities
- July 6 Firefly Viewing, Ryerson, Deerfield, 8:30PM-10PM, bring a chair and blanket, free
Saturday, July 7
- July 7 Life on the Farmhouse Tours, Kline Creek Farm, West Chicago, 10AM-4PM, tours on the hour, blacksmithing demo at 1:30, free
- July 7 Warrior Walk, Trailside, River Forest, 1PM, enjoy a guided hike based on the Warrior series, free but must register
- July 7 Free Trail Walk at The Grove, Glenview, 2PM, free
- July 7-8 Family Camp out at Blackberry Farm, $10 pp, must bring own tent and sleeping bag, there will be s'mores and breakfast, activities, must register
Sunday, July 8
- July 8 Canyon Tour, Sagawau, Lemont, 10AM, hike over rough terrain, free but must register
- July 8 Family Day at Lake Park, Des Plaines, 11AM-2PM, free foot golf, free golf, free boating, free rock wall climbing, live entertainment, food trucks and more
- July 8 Outdoor Play: Goldie's Next Big Adventure, Cantigny, Wheaton, 12PM, Bandshell, bring lawn chairs, etc, $10 parking
- July 8 Dairy Day, Elk Grove Historic Museum, Elk Grove Village, 12PM, visit a live cow, churn butter, make a sundae, play old fashioned games, crafts and more, $5 pp
