Plenty of fun this weekend in the Chicago suburbs including Destination Asia, World of Faeries, Festa Italiana, Art on the Fox and much more. Here are my picks for the weekend:

  • May 19-Sept 15 Butterfly House, Peck Farm, Geneva, 9AM-5PM Mon-Sat, Sun 12PM-5PM, closed Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day, suggested donation, $2 pp or $5 per family
  • July 7-September 3 Saturdays and Sundays plus Labor Day -- The Bristol Renaissance Faire
  • June 22-???? Troll Hunt at The Morton Arboretum -- see large scale trolls being made from reclaimed wood. Free with admission.

  • August 3-5 40th Annual Festa Italiana, Boylan High School, Rockford, Italian food and pastries, bocce tournament, cultural exhibits, carnival rides, crafts, entertainment and much more, $5 admission per person, package options available, see website for more info including times

  • August 3-5 Taste of Roselle
  • August 3 Turtle Trek Race, Twin Lakes, 6:30PM-7:00PM, see website for more info
  • August 3-5 Destination Asia Festival, Morton Arboretum, Lisle, The Morton Arboretum brings Asia to you with dance, music, performances, experiences and more, free with regular admission, see schedule -- times vary
Saturday, August 4: 
  • August 4-5 World of Faeries at Vasa Park, South Elgin, family Quest, tea parties, raptor demo, music, crafts and much more, $11 pp, cash only or purchase online, check website for more info
