A spooky weekend is ahead! Here are my picks for Halloween family fun in the Chicago suburbs this weekend. Please be sure to get in your pumpkin and corn maze fun in as well!

Friday, October 26:
  • October 26-28 Make a Glass Pumpkin, Peter Patterson Glassworks, 10AM-4PM, first come first serve, $35 pp for small, $65 large
  • October 26-27 Halloween Hoopla, Jewett Park, Deerfield, bonfire, pumpkin carving, pumpkin decorating, hayride, craft room, bubble show and more, check schedule -- different things each day, $5 per child ages 2+ on Saturday
  • October 26 Somewhat Scary Stories, Crabtree Nature Center, 7PM, storytelling and treats around the campfire, all ages, $2 pp, must register,  847-381-6592
Saturday, October 27:
  • October 27 Halloween Model Railroad, Highland Park Public Library, 9AM-4PM, enjoy a special Halloween-themed railroad
  • October 27 Baird & Warner Halloween Happening, Tivoli Theatre, Downers Grove, 9AM-12:30PM, costume contest registration at 9AM, free showing of Hotel Transylvania 3
  • October 27 FRANKENFEST, Arlington Heights Memorial Library, drop in events to celebrate Mary Shelley's Frankenstein; different move screenings, create Frankentoys, book discussion, science behind Frankenstein, see website for times
  • October 27 BATFest, Batavia Riverwalk, 10AM-2PM, trick-or-treating, pumpkin bowl, BATart and more, free
  • October 27 Halloween Hoopla, Des Plaines, events throughout the day, see schedule
  • October 27 Halloween Trick-or-Treat and more fun, Deer Park Town Center, Kildeer, 12PM-3PM
  • October 27 Danada Halloween Trick-or-Treat, Danada Equestrian Center, Wheaton, 12PM-4PM, free
  • October 27 Science of Jurassic Park, Lizzadro Museum, Elmhurst, 2PM-3:15PM, myths and science behind the show, $8 pp, ages 10+, reservations recommended
  • October 27 Star Wars Family Day Party, Mount Prospect Public Library, 2PM-3:30PM, costumes optional, play games, make a creation, must register, kids kindergarten - 5th grade with adult
  • October 27 The Return of Scary Stories, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, 8PM, scary stories around the campfire, $3 pp, must register  847-824-8360

Sunday, October 28:

  • October 28 Trick-or-Treat Trail, Community Arts Center, Buffalo Grove, 12PM-1:30PM, free
  • October 28 Halloween Costume Parade and Trick-or-Treating, Downer's Grove, 12:30PM-3PM, free
  • October 28 Halloween Happening, Naperville, 1PM-4PM, all sorts of Halloween fun for kids ages 10 and under, free
  • October 28 Geneva Commons Fall Fest, Geneva, 1PM-4PM, hay bale maze, bouncy pumpkin, face painting, corn hole, carnival games and more, free admission
  • October 28 The Un-Haunted Forest, River Trail Nature Center, 1:30PM, kids enjoy a special costumed hike with a Halloween treat at the end, $3 per child, must register by 10/26:  847-824-8360
  • October 28 A Family Halloween, Wagner Farm, Glenview, 3PM-6PM, haunted barn, wagon rides, pumpkin games and more, rain or shine, $10 pp (kids under 2 are free), order tickets online
