Delivery.com Making Delivery Easier--Review and Giveaway (Ends 10/23/12)

With a busy household, sometimes it is hard to throw a meal together. This especially happens to us at the end of the week when we are both busy and tired. Recently, we were fortunate enough to receive an opportunity to try out Delivery.com in order to have a nice meal delivered directly to our home.

Through Delivery.com, you have the choice of ordering from various delivery and pick up food options in your area. It is nice to be able to see a list of options rather than having to think of food options yourself. (This process can sometimes be a long one for us.) The list is ever expanding as new restaurants sign up to be part of Delivery.com. Thus, you will not see every restaurant in your area that has delivery. However, there will be a list of choices, which is helpful.

Ordering through Delivery.com is pretty easy. You choose the restaurant and go from there. I am amazed by how many options that Delivery.com has. You can even choose your delivery time. Choosing food is easy. A menu for the restaurant that you have chosen is displayed. From there you can choose the desired menu items. Once you have chosen an item, you may have the option to choose different additional items such as toppings or dressings. There is also a section for any special instructions.

As you are compiling your order, the prices of the items are tallied to the side. That way, you can make sure your meal fits within a certain budget, if need be. Please be aware that there is a delivery fee, so don't forget to account for that. (It will show up in the tally.) Also, there will be an additional section to pay for a tip, so you do not need to worry about that if you do not have cash handy.

We made our order from a local pizza joint and scheduled delivery for 5:30PM. The first issue that we had with the order--and I don't know if it was due to the pizza place or Delivery.com--was that our pizza arrived at 6:00PM instead of the desired 5:30PM. The good news is that we received our order and everything was there! Yay! (As you know, this does not always happen!)

However, we soon hit another kink in our order. We ordered a turkey sub with our meal. I had specified that I did not want any mayo on the sandwich. However, it came with mayo. (Not shocked--this does happen about a quarter of the time, which you all know!)

Other than that, our order was great! We enjoyed the meal and were glad to not have had to scramble to throw together a dinner that evening. It was also nice that it was already paid for when it arrived.

Overall, we were satisfied with Delivery.com. One last intriguing feature of the service---you build up points as you order through the site. You can in turn use these points for rewards. Since I live in a house with an avid couponer, systems with rewards points are always welcome!

Now that you have heard about our experience with Delivery.com, one of our readers will have a chance to try out Delivery.com for themselves! We will be giving away a $40 gift card to Delivery.com for one lucky reader! Please use the Rafflecopter form below to enter.
