Wednesday Weekend Windup

Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere! Fall is in full swing and there is a ton of fun all over!

Here are some events that we found for this weekend:

On Saturday, there will be a Fire Department Open House in Arlington Heights from 10AM-2PM. It will be at Fire Station #2 at 1150 N Arlington Heights Rd. There will be demonstrations, chances to climb into a firetruck, check out fire rescue equipment, and visit Sparky the Fire Dog. There will also be face painting and games. The event is free!

There will be a Howl-o-ween Pooch Parade on Saturday at the Meineke Recreation Center in Schaumburg from 12PM-2PM. The fun will include a pet costume contest, agility course, and play area. You must bring record of shots. The event costs $2 per person and $5 per dog for residents and $3 per person and $7 per dog for non residents.

Dowtown Mt. Prospect will be alive with its Fall Festival immediately followed by Oktoberfest. The Fall Festival will be hopping from 1PM-4PM at the corner of Busse and Emerson. The event is free and will include a bouncy house, hay ride, pony rides, a stilt walker, and trick-or-treating line. Oktoberfest fun begins at 4PM and ends at 11PM. There will be live music and German food. There will be a heated tent for the Oktoberfest, so you will not have to let the temperatures keep you home! Admission is free.

Whole Foods Market in Palatine will be having a Harvestfest on Saturday from 12PM-3PM. Taste some of fall delights while the kids can get their faces painted and decorate pumpkins. (There is a cost for the pumpkin.)

Northbrook will be holding its Autumnfest at Meadowhill Park on Saturday from 3PM-7PM. There will be a lot of fun including a pumpkin crushing dinosaur, costume contest, I Spy hayride, face painting, inflatables, and music.
