Spring Break Fun!!!!!!!
With Spring Break around the corner, I have been looking for some free fun for the kiddos. I have found some free events at the Raupp Museum, Arlington Heights Memorial Library, and Indian Trails Public Library. All three are places that I have taken my daughter for events. I cannot tell you how great of a resource each has been for us! Even if you are not looking for big plans, it is nice to have little reasons to get out of the house.  If you need an little something to break up your day, try one of these free events:

Raupp Museum:

The Raupp Museum will have some fun events during Spring Break. The events will happen March 25-29 from 1:00PM-3:00PM and will include making a beaded suncatcher (Mar 25), planting seeds (Mar 26), making butter (Mar 27), making a clothespin butterfly (Mar 28) and making pinwheels (Mar 29). If you go to the Museum, be sure to grab a scavenger hunt form and explore the exhibits.

The Raupp Museum is hidden gem in the suburbs. My daughter get lost in it every time we visit. The Museum is the perfect size to visit but not use up all of your day. There are exhibits relating to Buffalo Grove's past as well as a city street that kids love!

Arlington Heights Memorial Library:

Here is a look at what is happening at AHML:

Boredom Busters: Mini Golf: Let those kiddos stretch out and hit a few rounds. You can drop in March 25 (1PM-3PM) and March 26 (10AM-12PM). There are also additional Boredom Busters listed for Friday, March 29 from 1:00PM-2:00PM and 4:15PM-5:15PM. The activities for these sessions are not specified on the calendar. There are quite a few special events listed for Spring Break, so check the library's calendar. Some require registration and an AHML card.

If you do stop at the library, be sure to check out the dollhouse. It is a must!

Indian Trails Public Library:

The Indian Trails Public Library is offering quite a few events. Here is a look:

The Care and Feeding of Pet Dinosaurs with Janet Riehecky (March 25, 1:00PM-2:00PM): This program is geared for those 5-10-years-old. Kids will learn how to keep their pet dinosaur happy!

Big Run Wolf Ranch (March 26, 1:00PM-2:00PM): Get up close and personal with some animals from Big Run Wolf Ranch.

Crazy Gibberish and the Cha Cha Cha (March 27, 1:00PM-2:00PM): Sandi Sylver, a ventriloquist will be entertaining kids. She will even teach them a little ventriloquy. The event is geared towards kids in grades K-5.

Springtime Craft (March 28, 11:00AM-11:45AM): Make a fun spring craft at the library! The craft is geared towards kids in grades K-5.

Please check with the Indian Trails Library to see if you need to register for these events.

Be sure to add some of these events to your Spring Break lists!  Free and fun!

  1. Have fun during spring break!

  2. Thank you thank you thank you! I've been trying to plan for Spring Break around here.

    1. No problem! :) I am sure that there are more at other libraries, so check them out. I highly recommend the Raupp Museum. It is nice for about an 1 - 1.5 hour outing. Make sure to grab the scavenger hunt(s) at the front desk.
