Wednesday Weekend Windup {Can You Do The Bunny Hop}

I am so happy that the sun is shining today! I started some of my gardening last week {hurray!} but still have a lot to do! I have a bunch of seeds starting--hopefully, I didn't start them too late. I guess time will tell. Temperatures look pretty nice for Saturday. Hope it sticks, we need it!

There are tons of fun events in the suburbs this weekend. Here are some ideas that looked particularly interesting and are more affordable:

Friday, April 11

Friday and Saturday bring the Spring Dance Showcase to Prairie Lakes Theatre in Des Plaines. The event will be held 7PM Friday and 2PM Saturday. Watch Artistry in Motion Dance Pieces. Tickets cost $8pp, $5 per students, seniors, dancer. You can purchase tickets online

Saturday, April 12

Many of the events this weekend are Easter-themed. If you are looking for something a little different, try The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley at the Northbrook Theater. Shows are at 10AM and 1PM. The musical is $12 pp. You can order online!

Speaking about eggs, how about the Eggstravaganza at Park Center in Glenview? The free Easter egg hunt runs 10AM-10:30AM. The rain location is the Main Gym.

You can also get your egg hunt on at the Palatine Jaycee's Easter Egg Hunt at the Palatine Towne Square Park from 10AM-11AM. Enjoy an egg hunt, games, pictures with Easter Bunny for free!

There are two fun events in Geneva on Saturday. First, there is an Easter Egg Hunt at Persinger Recreation Center from 10AM-10:15AM. You will need to bring a basket but the event is free. Come early because parking is limited. The hunt is on rain or shine. You can also register for a breakfast with the bunny.

Later in the morning, enjoy the Earth Day Celebration at Peck Farm also in Geneva from 11AM-3PM. There will be kids activities, a green market, electronics recycling, paper shredding and more for free! Peck Farm is a beautiful place to walk around!

Saturday and Sunday visit Berry-Yo in Arlington Heights for the Easter Bunny Visit from 12PM-2PM each day. Bring your camera to take a picture with the Easter Bunny!

Dogs can go on a  Hound Egg Hunt in the Palatine Town Square at 12PM. The event costs $6 per dog before event, $8 day of. Pre-registration must include rabies paperwork. Dogs must be wearing current rabies tag at event and be kept on leash.

Get your lucky on at the Irish Fest in Mt. Prospect from 2PM-11PM. There will be entertainment, food vendors, Irish products vendors and more!

Sunday, April 13

Have fun at The Great Egg Slide at the TripHahn Center and Ice Arena in Hoffman Estates from 3:00PM-4:30PM. Skate with the Easter Bunny and hunt for eggs. Free admission and skate rental.

Susanna Farms in Lake Villa is holding Helicopter Egg Drop event from 2-6PM. The drops are at 4:30PM for younger children (4-7) and 5:15PM for older (7-12). There will be a toddlers' egg hunt at 4PM in straw maze. Families can come earlier in the day to play on the farm. Admission is $5pp, train ride and more {horse ride extra}.
