Wednesday Weekend Windup {Spring Fun}

I can't believe that May is already here! Where did the time go? The next few weeks will be a flurry of end of school events. I don't remember things being quite this busy when I was a child. Busy--but not the insanity that has already begun to descend on this household! There are plenty of events coming up to add to the melee. Here are some that look interesting this weekend:

Thursday, May 1

Shrek the Musical will be a fun production at Prospect High School in Prospect Heights Thursday-Saturday. There will be shows at 7PM May 1, 2 & 3 and a matinee at 12PM on May 3. Tickets are $10. There is a ticket order form online.

Taltree Arboretum & Gardens in Valpo, Indiana may be a bit of a drive but it does make for a nice day trip. We visited at the end of Spring Break and found it to be a place we would love to go back to. During May, the preserve will have a Fairy House Garden Exhibit. The exhibit should be a nice whimsical addition. The preserve is open 8AM-7PM. Admission is $10 per adult and child 13-17, $5 per younger child. There is also a railway garden with trains running 10AM-6;30PM.

Friday, May 2

Indulge your sweet side at the Long Grove Chocolate Festival from 10AM-6PM Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be  special chocolate treats, special deals, live music.
