Wednesday Weekend Windup {Wagons Full of Fall Fun!!!}

There are plenty of fun events this weekend to keep you and the fam pretty busy! Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and give us a wonderful fall weekend! (Unfortunately, it does not look too promising now but one can hope!)

Here are some ideas this weekend:

October Weekends--Pumpkin Weekends at Blackberry Farm, Aurora, seasonal crafts, pumpkin train, purchase pumpkins to decorate, carousel rides, pedal cars, pony rides and more, $8 per adult, $7 per child non resident, $5 and $4.50 respectively for residents, 2 and under free!

Friday, October 3

Friday and Saturday mark Oktoberfest Naper Settlement in Naperville. The event includes German music and food with kids activities on Saturday 12PM-5PM. Admission costs $10 adults, $5 kids in advance, $15 & $10 day of. Admission includes admission to historic settlement.

Hobby enthusiasts will enjoy the iHobby Expo Friday through Sunday at the Schaumburg Convention Center showcasing hobby products. The fun includes train rides, a pinewood derby track and races, free make & take sessions, fighting robots and more. Tickets are $15 per adult, kids under 10 free. Check online for discount. **Good option if the less than ideal weather holds.**

Saturday, October 4

Look for treasures at the Vintage Fair at the Museum at the Arlington Heights Historical Museum from 9AM-3PM. Shop from local vendors selling handmade goods, vintage items and more.

Oktoberfest at The Village Tavern in Long Grove from 1PM-5PM will include free hayrides, free pumpkin painting, a beer tent, German music and a car show.

Fall brings the Autumn Harvest to Arlington Heights Saturday 11AM-3PM. This is one of our faves every year and includes a  petting zoo, scarecrow building, pumpkin painting, entertainment, face painting and more for free!

Calling all knights and princesses for A Camelot Faire at the NEW Camelot Community Center in Arlington Heights from 10AM-12:30PM. The fun includes night training and sword fight demo, cupcake decorating, make crowns and swords, visits from knights and a princess from Medieval Times, new equipment demos, complimentary goody bags and refreshments and more!

Take Fido on an afternoon out at Dogtoberfest at Dieke Park in Huntly from 12PM-4PM. The furry fun includes a doggie play area, demos, vendors, pet blessing, pet first aid info and more. The event is free! Furry friends must be on a nonretractable leash 6ft or smaller!

Sunday, October 5

Enjoy Grove Folk Fest at The Grove in Glenview from 11AM-5PM. The fun includes live folk music, a pie tent, crafts, hayrides, Native American flute circle and more. Admission is $4 per adult, $1 per child.

Learn about autumn chores at the Autumn Harvest Festival at the Volkening Heritage Farm in Schaumburg from 12PM-5PM. Enjoy hands-on demos of frontier farm life including cider pressing and threshing, kids crafts and activities, 19th century games, string music and food for purchase. Admission is $5 pp, $20 per family of 6.

Spend a day on the farm during Fun on the Farm Bonner Country Fair at Bonner Heritage Farm in Lindenhurst from 12PM-4PM. The fair includes a petting zoo, wagon and pony rides, old fashioned games, crafts and scarecrow making. Admission costs, $5 pp, 3 and under free!

Pumpkin Festivals! Don't forget fun at Goebbert's, Stade's, Richardson's, Siegel's and more!
