Wednesday Weekend Windup {What to Do This Weekend}

I can't believe that it is already Wednesday! Where does the time go! If you are scrambling for some weekend plans, here are some ideas for this weekend!

ROAD TRIP IDEA: Dino Digs at the Dinosaur Discovery Museum in Kenosha, kids can excavate their own fossil on February 28, admission is free!

Saturday, February 28
  • February 14-March 15 The Orchid Show, Chicago Botanic Garden, The Orchid Show will provide extra bursts of color throughout Chicago Botanic Garden's greenhouses. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and kids with those under 2 free ($8 and $6 respectively for members).   • February 28 A Year with Frog and Toad TYA, Northbrook Theatre, $12 pp, showtimes at 10AM and 1PM, purchase tickets online
  • February 28-March 1 Familypalooza, Pheasant Run, St. Charles, 10AM-6PM, 60+ family fun exhibitors, indoor zipline, trackless train, hands on activities, live shows, carnival games and more, $8 admission, $15 for activities wristband (includes general admission), $2 off with ad linked to
  • February 28 The Fairy Tale Forest with Mr. Kipley, The Book Market, The Glen Town Center, Glenview, 10:30AM-11:15AM, puppetry, free but you must register! 
  • February 28 Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration, Lake Shore Learning, 11AM-3PM, make a Seuss mask, make a pencil holder, Seuss stories every hour, free!
  • February 28-March 1 Grand Opening of New Elmhurst History Exhibit, Elmhurst Historical Museum, 1:00PM-5:00PM, check out the new interactive exhibit, enjoy musical entertainment, crafts, trivia, refreshments and more for free!
  • February 28-March 1 Sap's Rising at River Trail Nature Center in Northbrook: Take a walk in the maple forest as winter is coming to an end and learn about the maple sugaring process. The event runs 1:30PM-2:30PM both days and is free.
  • February 28 Bill Buczinsky performing music, magic and metaphoric merrymaking, Arlington Heights Historical Society, Arlington Heights, 1:45PM-2:30PM, free!
Sunday, March 1
  • March 1 Dr. Seuss Celebration, Target, Arlington Heights, 12PM-2PM, readings of classic Seuss stories, free
  • March 1 Tully Academy Irish Dancers, The Book Market, The Glen Town Center, Glenview, 2:00PM-2:45PM, performers from the Sheila Tully Academy, free but you must register
