 Plenty of fun this weekend! Chocolate, butterflies, wolves and more are in my picks:

  • April 8-September 25 Ribbit! The Exhibit, Morton Arboretum, Lisle, 23 larger-than-life copper frog sculptures of frogs performing different activities throughut the arboretum, free with admission, $14 Adults ages 18–64, $12 Seniors ages 65+ , $9 Youth ages 2–17 (discounted admission on Wednesdays)
Thursday, May 26:
  • May 26-30 ChocolateFest in Burlington Wisconsin, all sorts of chocolate fun, tastings, demos--entertainment including lumberjacks, puppeteers, hypnotist, live music and more--carnival, check website for ticket prices & carnival wristbands

Friday, May 27:

May 27-30 Foot Golf at Palatine Hills, Palatine, 5PM-8PM, $3 per player this weekend only, 18 holes take about 1 hour to complete

Saturday, May 28:
  • May 28 Family Day, Big Run Wolf Ranch, Lockport, 10AM-4PM, animals, food drink, entertainment, raffle to bottle feed wolf pups, $6 pp
  • May 28 Butterflies and Blooms opens at Chicago Botanic Garden, 10AM-5PM, enjoy immersing yourself in the live butterfly exhibit, adults $6, seniors $5, kids $4 (3-12), 2 and under free, discount for members, packs available, $25 parking per car on weekdays, $30 weekends if not members, ongoing through Sept 5
  • May 28-29 Barrington Art Festival, Barrington, 10AM-5PM, various artists and mediums, demos, art for sale, food vendors, live music, free admission
  • May 28-29 St. Charles Fine Art Show, St. Charles, 10AM-6PM Sat, 10AM-5PM Sun, many artists, hands-on art activities, live entertainment, FREE historic St. Charles Trolley Tours, free admission
  • May 28 -29 Gem, Mineral, Jewelry and Fossil Show, DuPage Fairgrounds, Wheaton, 10AM-6PM (5/28), 10AM-5PM (5/29), exhibits, dealers, demos, gold panning, kids corner and more, adults $5, seniors/students $3, kids under 13 are free
  • May 28-29 Prairie Arts Festival, Prairie Center for the Arts, Schaumburg, 10AM-5PM, variety of artists, 3 stages of entertainment, kids activities, food truck court, free admission
  • May 28 Prospect Park Grand Opening, Park Ridge, 9:45AM-12PM, ribbon cutting, games, DJ, children's characters, giveaways and more, free, free admission to splash pad, too!
  • May 28 Free Golf Clinic, Sunset Meadows, Arlington Heights, 4PM-5PM, free learning clinic for kids
  • Also ChocolateFest in Burlington, WI and Foot Golf.
Sunday, May 29:
  • May 29 Spring Nature Walk with a Naturalist, Crabtree Nature Center, Barrington, 1PM, free
  • May 29 Capturing Coyotes, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, 1:30PM, learn about this misunderstood animal and their important role in nature, free
  • Also, ChocolateFest, Barrington Art Festival, St. Charlies Fine Art Show, Butterflies and Blooms, Mineral Show, Foot Golf and Prairie Arts Festival.
Monday, May 30:
  • May 30 Creature Feature, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, 1:30PM, come in and say hi to one of the creatures in our forest
  • Also, Foot Golf.
