Wednesday Weekend Windup {Pumpkin Smashes, Craft Fairs and More}

Holiday Faire at The Grove, Glenview.

One of my favorite events of the season -- The Grove Arts & Craft Faire is this weekend! Truly an unbelievable number of crafters will be there. A great opportunity to pick up holiday gifts! There are plenty of other ideas for fun including some pumpkin smashes!
Thursday, November 3:
  • November 3-6 Dickens Fall Fest, Antioch, kick off to Dickens Holiday Village with a carnival, seasonal beverages, food, crafts, artists have created Dickens characters and scenes that are around the town, prices for rides vary, check chamber website and print a ticket for 1 free ride
  • November 3-6 and 10-13 The Grove Arts & Crafts Faire, Glenview, amazing collection of crafters spread out in various buildings at The Grove, $5 admission, $1 for kids 12 and under, wonderful way to start of the holidays; Nov 3-4 10AM-8PM, Nov 5-6 10AM-5PM
Saturday, November 5:
  • November 5-6 Barrington Showcase for Arts and Crafts, Barrington Park District, Langendorf Park, Barrington, mixed media arts and crafts event, 11/5 9AM-5PM, 11/6 10AM-4PM, free admission
  • November 5 Dog Admission Day, Morton Arboretum, Lisle, 7AM-sunset, see rules, $5 per dog,  $14 Adults ages 18–64, $12 Seniors ages 65+ , $9 Youth ages 2–17
  • November 5 Palatine High School Craft Fair, 9AM-4PM, free admission
  • November 5 Pumpkin Smash and Bash, Centennial Park, Park Ridge,12:30PM-1:30PM, free
  • November 5 Native American Heritage Day, Elk Grove Historical Museum, Elk Grove Village, 1PM-4PM, learn about the Native Americans that lived in Illinois, play Native American games, make a beaded necklace and a corn husk doll, $3 pp for crafts
  • November 5 Pumpkin Smash, Arndt Park, Des Plaines, 1PM-2PM, free
  • November 5 Pumpkin Smash and Bash, Flick Park Sledding Hill, Glenview, 3:30PM-4:30PM, free
  • Also, Dickens Fall Fest and Arts & Craft Faire from above.
Sunday, November 6:
  • November 6 Fall Changes, River Trail Nature Center, Northbrook, 1:30PM, learn about how plants and animals adjust to the fall changes
  • Also, Dickens Fall Fest, Barrington Showcase for the Arts and Arts & Craft Faire from above.
