Wednesday Weekend Windup {Chocolate, Butterflies, The Arts and More}

Time to think the weekend! This weekend is a local favorite -- the Long Grove Chocolate Fest!

  • March 17 - June 3 Simply Spring Butterfly Exhibit, Nicholas Conservatory in Rockford, enjoy butterflies flying freely in the conservatory, witness all of the butterfly life cycle, $6 resident, $8 non, $4 and $6 for seniors, kids 5-17 and veterans, Ages 3-4 $2, under 3 free, check website for times. ***Tropical Tuesdays Admission is $3.**
  • May 4-20 Lilac Time, Lombard, variety events like heritage tour, lilac bush purchases, parade, art and craft fair and more, see schedule
  • Now-June 21 Troll Hunt at The Morton Arboretum -- see large scale trolls being made from reclaimed wood. Free with admission.
Friday, May 18:
  • May 18-20 Chocolate Fest, Long Grove, chocolate creations, live music, carnival rides, family activities and more, $5 per person, kids 12 and under are free, separate price for carnival rides, see schedule

  • May 19-20 Civil War Days, Naper Settlement, Naperville, 10AM-4PM, reeanctors, battle, suttler's row and more, Admission is $15/adult, $10/youth (4–12). Naper Settlement members and children under 4 are free.
  • May 19 Butterfly House Opens, Peck Farm, Geneva (weather permitting), 10AM-5PM, suggested donation $2 per person, $5 per family, 10AM-12PM is the butterfly release party -- $10 per person you must reserve a time
