6 Places for Locally Roasted Coffee in the Chicago Suburbs

Chicago suburban coffee shops are calling my name in the winter! I especially enjoy local coffee shops with their own locally roasted coffee. Over the past couple of years, my family has been exploring a variety of local coffee shops in the suburbs looking for yummy mochas (my favorite). Here are our favorites local coffee shops that roast their own coffee:

1. Hansa Coffee Roasters: Hansa Coffee Roasters was actually one of the first local shops we visited when I feel in love with mocha lattes. The coffee shop and roastery are located in Libertyville with additional cafes in Lake Bluff and Vernon Hills (inside the Barbara's Books).  In addition to great coffee selections, the cafe had a nice selection of baked goods and other menu items.

2. Tala Coffee Roasters: Tala is one of our newer finds. Tala's coffee shop is located inside of a repurposed firehouse in Highwood. The roastery is located in Libertyville. My husband enjoyed a Bourbon Vanilla Latte at Tala with their own syrup. Creative and yum!

3. Coffee Speaks: Nestled in Highland Park, Coffee Speaks is not only home to delicious locally roasted coffee but also scooped scones. I love the size of the scooped scones because they allow for a treat that is just a couple of bites. The flavors can be unique like the matcha chocolate chip.

4. The Rock House Glenview and Wilmette: The Rock House is truly a fun and unique spot for locally roasted coffee! Not only can you enjoy an awesome cup of joe but also a build-your-own grilled cheese. Additionally, The Rock House has a music school and is a music venue.

5.  Patisserie Coralie and Cafe Coralie: I have just learned about these little slices of heaven in Evanston featuring not only indulgent French pastries but also coffee roasted locally in Evanston. What a treat!

6. Brewpoint: Brewpoint has a roastery and two cafes in Elmhurst. In addition to awesome locally roasted coffee and a lovely mocha, Brewpoint also introduced us to a local donut spot called Donut Drop in Schaumburg.
