Who can go through the Easter season without popping at least one PEEP? Admit it, you are pretty disappointed when a package of PEEPs does not find its way into your Easter basket!

Of course, we are all familiar with what happens when you keep your PEEPs a little too long. So, I am sure that you have experimented with the stiffer variety making designs and art of your own. Well, you are not the only one inspired by PEEPs! The Racine Art Museum is currently hosting its 6th Annual International PEEPs Art Exhibition featuring art made from and inspired by PEEPs! The event brings in about 3,000 visitors annually and features the work of 104 artists. What a fun and festive way to celebrate spring with some real PEEPsonality!

If you are planning a visit, the Racine Art Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday 10AM-5PM and 12PM-5PM Sunday. The museum is closed Mondays and Easter Sunday (April 5). The exhibit is open March 27-April 12. Admission is $5 per person and free for children 12 and under. The Racine Art Museum is located at 441  Main St. in Racine and is conveniently located near many shops and restaurants downtown. Plus, you will be not too far from sweeping views of Lake Michigan!

Racine is also starting its First Fridays next week on April 3! First Fridays occur downtown from 4PM-9PM on the first Friday of the month April-December. It is a fun way to explore the downtown and take advantage of shopping and dining specials as well as take in special art exhibits. There will be a horse-drawn carriage for some more family fun! Plus, admission to the Racine Art Museum will be free during First Friday on April 3 so it may be a great time to visit. However, arrive early--the line will get long! The museum will be free from 10AM-9PM so you can plan to get there earlier than the downtown events.

If you plan on checking out the PEEPs Exhibit on Saturday, April 4th the Racine Zoo will also be holding an Egg-Stravaganza from 10AM-1PM including activity stations, animal meet and greets, Easter bunny visits and more! Admission is $8 per adult, $7 per senior, $6 per kids 3-15 and free for those under 3.

Sounds like Racine would make for a pretty nice day trip during this season! Plus, who can resist celebrating the PEEP?
