The exhibits at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library are a true treasure here in the Chicago suburbs. Whenever I know one is ending, I get excited about the unveiling of the next one! On January 20, Arlington Heights Memorial Library will be opening its new exhibit for this winter: XOXO: An Exhibit on Love and Forgiveness.

The new exhibit uses multimedia engaging a variety of senses to help families learn about emotions, their power and why we feel certain things when we do. Words, movement, sound, art making and more hands-on activities will encourage families to explore emotion.

The exhibit will be open in the Marketplace and Kids' World January 20-March 31. There will be a number events associated with the exhibit including the Opening Night Party January 20 6PM-8PM. Fun activities during the party will include a storytime, scavenger hunt, dancing, refreshments and more. From February 1-10, families will be able to write letters to support women recently diagnosed with breast cancer in partnership with Girls Love Mail. The library will also be collecting nonperishable food items during the month of March in partnership with the Wheeling Township Food Pantry.

This exhibit is made possible by the generous support of the Friends of the Arlington Heights Memorial LibraryXOXO: An Exhibit About Love & Forgiveness was created in 2014
by Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, with support from The Fetzer Institute.

Once I have explored the exhibit, I will let you know a little more about it! I am always impressed by the quality, level of engagement and activities incorporated in each of the library's exhibit. I am sure this one will be a fun and educational experience!
