A Little Time and a Keyboard: Kriser's Pet Foods Glen Ellyn {Grand Opening}

Kriser's Pet Foods Glen Ellyn {Grand Opening}

Kriser's will be celebrating a Grand Opening at the Glen Ellyn, Illinois location this weekend and I received a little sneak peek of this brand new location. As I entered the store, I noticed this nice display of baked doggie goodies. Tempting! Truly tempting!

Just a glance through the store and you realize its spaciousness. This design is not only pleasing to the eye but also easy for families with four-legged members to navigate.

Kriser's mission is to prolong pets' lives and to educate customers. And learn I did! Terry Colley, Store Manager, highlighted many of Kriser's products including supplements, food, treats and toys. He took special care to discuss products that will help with ticks. This is already a bad tick year for dogs in our area! (If you have an especially adventurous dog, you should as about the Tick Key. The Tick Key makes removing the head easy.)

I was delighted to find that in addition to getting many of its products from the U.S. and Canada, Kriser's actually has products made right here in Chicagoland. I learned about Botti Shampoo which is so gentle on dogs that they can be washed using it everyday. (Goes against the grain, doesn't it?) I also learned about High Hopes that makes doggie cookies and cupcakes. Part of every High Hopes sale goes to help homeless pets.

The cat section of the store was also filled with all natural wonders. While not all of the toys are made in the U.S., the store does stock some cat toys made in the U.S. (Toys made in the U.S. are also particularly hard to find.)

The store also provides grooming services. Since the groomer only handles one pet at a time, you dog will have personal attention and will be in and out quicker! The store also had community events. I was amazed that a canine masseuse comes in every few months. She is certified (can I get that job!) and will demonstrate to you how to give your pooch a massage free of charge. If you do have her give your dog a full massage, there is a fee. But, your dog will appreciate it! ;)

With the Grand Opening, the Glen Ellyn store has some specials. June 8-9 there will be free nail trimmings (10:00AM-2:00PM), ID tags, scoopers and lids. You can also get a free photo with your pet from 12:00PM-4:00PM. Kriser's works with many small charitable organizations for animals. This weekend, they will be donating 1 pound of food to the Illinois Animal Rescue for every 1 pound purchased. The Glen Ellyn location is located at 674 Roosevelt Rd.

**Disclosure: I attended a blogger event for this store. No compensation was received. All opinions are 100% my own.
