Yesterday, we capitalized on the "warm" weather and headed out to Old Orchard Mall in Skokie for a brisk walk and some light browsing. {It is right after Christmas, so we have tightened the belts, both financially and nutritionally.} While at the mall, we happened by a little store that actually captivated us for quite some time----Marbles: The Brain Store.........

Marbles is a very hands-on place. Nearly every game or puzzle is out ready to be played with. So, you get to try them before you buy. The store houses a range of mind stimulating games focusing on coordination, memory, problem solving and more. You can see that the games are all displayed and ready for action!

We were encouraged to try out all of the games in the store. I love a place where you are actually encouraged to try the products right in store. There are so many stores where the owners and employees visibly cringe when a child walks in. Not Marbles. We honed in on a few games like the labyrinth. Who can resist a traditional game without a spin?

Of course, we did get more adventurous and explored games we have never seen before. My daughter loved this squirrel game that not only helps kids learn traditional game playing skills like taking turns but also with hand eye coordination and pre-writing skills. I have to say, it is pretty adorable!

Marbles is truly worth the stop. The store has some unique games that would make great gifts or nice additions to your own collection. Even if you are not in the buying mood, the wonderland is worth a stop!

If you are looking for a store, there are locations in California, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington.
