Music and merriment at Bristol Renaissance Faire
Don't forget to visit Bristol during its last two weekends!
Weekend full steam ahead! Definitely be sure to get out and explore this weekend as summer is winding down! Here are my picks for this weekend:

Ongoing:
  • April 8-September 25 Ribbit! The Exhibit, Morton Arboretum, Lisle, 23 larger-than-life copper frog sculptures of frogs performing different activities throughout the arboretum, free with admission, $14 Adults ages 18–64, $12 Seniors ages 65+ , $9 Youth ages 2–17 (discounted admission on Wednesdays)
  • May 28-Sept 5 Butterflies and Blooms opens at Chicago Botanic Garden, 10AM-5PM, enjoy immersing yourself in the live butterfly exhibit, adults $6, seniors $5, kids $4 (3-12), 2 and under free, discount for members, packs available, $25 parking per car on weekdays, $30 weekends if not members
  • July 9-Labor Day Bristol Renaissance Faire, Bristol, WI, Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day, see website for schedule and tickets
  • Through 9/17 Butterfly House at Peck Farm, Geneva, Monday-Saturday 9AM-5PM, Sunday 12PM-4PM, $2 suggested donation, $5 per family, weather dependent

  • August 26-28 Lake Count-I-Con, Lake County Fairgrounds, admission $5 August 26&28; $7 on Aug 27, Aug 26 6PM-10PM, 27 12PM-9PM, 28 12PM-6PM
Saturday, August 27:
  • August 27 Elmhurst Artist Guild's Art Crawl, 9AM-10PM, self guided walking and trolley tour of Elmhurst museums and business district, artists will be set up at Elmhurst Art Museum and other locations, showing of ET at Yorke Theatre at 10AM for $7, see website for more details
  • August 27 Pokemon Go Gathering, Black Bear Park, Hoffman Estates, 10AM-11:30PM, free, register at event, broken into age groups
  • August 27-28 Potawatomi Trails Powwow, Shiloh Park, Zion, $5 per adult, $1 kids 6-12, Native American singing, dance, flute, quillworker, beading, crafts and more, children under 6 and seniors over 65 are free
  • August 27 Touch-a-Truck, Golf Mill, 11AM-1PM at entrance 6, free
  • August 27 Color Aloft Balloon Festival, Grayslake, 4PM-9PM, hot air balloon launch & glow, food vendors, music, 1800's baseball game, family activities, free admission
  • Also, Palatine Street Fest, Shakespeare in the Park, Lake Count-I-Con and Taste of Highland Park above.
Sunday, August 28
  • August 28 ClaySpace Pottery Show, Cantigny Park, 10AM-4PM, artists from local ClaySpace non profit Lisle clay studio will be displaying and selling works, free admission with $10 parking
  • August 28 Fall Festival, Luther Village, Arlington Heights, 11:30AM-5:00PM, German music, special character visits, carnival games, inflatables and more, see event info, free admission
  • August 28 Solar Astronomy Drop In, Trailside Museum of Natural History, River Forest, 1PM-2:30PM, see the sun through a special telescope filter, bake a snack in a solar oven, make a sun craft, free 
  • Also, Palatine Street Fest, Lake Count-I-Con and Taste of Highland Park above.
