Kenosha Tall Ships, Shakespeare in the Park, Venetian Night, Bristol, Tastes, Festa Italiana and More Family Fun in the Chicago Suburbs August 1-4, 2019

  • May 18-September 21 Butterfly House, Peck Farm, Geneva, Mon-Sat 9AM-5PM, Sun 12PM-5PM, closed Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day, $2 pp donation, $5 per family
  • May 25-September 2 Butterflies and Blooms, Chicago Botanic Garden, 10AM-5PM daily, see website for fees, weather dependent
  • May 24-September 15 Nature Connects Lego Sculptures by Sean Kenney at The Morton Arboretum, comes with regular admission, see previous post for more details
  • July 6-September 2 Bristol Renaissance Faire on Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day
Thursday, August 1
  • August 1-4 Kenosha Tall Ships, enjoy summer days exploring Tall Ships as they visit Kenosha's Harbor! There are a variety of experiences and tickets available, so see my previous post for more info.

  • August 3 World of Faeries, Vasa Park, Elgin 10AM-7PM, musicians, family friendly games, tea parties,vendors and more, $15 pp, $8 per senior, children 12 and under are free
  • August 3-4 Elgin Art and Soul on the Fox,  Riverside Drive Promenade, 10AM-5PM
  • August 3 Jazz and Wine Festival, Deer Park Town Center, Kildeer, 12PM-9:30PM, live music, food vendor, balloon artist, face painting
  • August 3 Harbor Day and Venetian Night, Winthrop Harbor, 3PM-11PM
  • August 3 Shakespeare in the Park, RiverEdge, Aurora, gates open at 5:30PM; show starts at 6:30PM, enjoy a FREE showing of Comedy of Errors at RiverEdge, please see website for information on food and seating
  • August 3 Mayslake Hall Gardens and Grounds Tour, Oak Brook, 6PM-5PM, ages 12 and up, under 18 with an adult, explore the gardens and study the sculptures on the facade, $10 pp, must register
