Chicago Suburban Family Fun July 12-14

The weekend is nearly here! There are some great events coming up this weekend including FanCon at Arlington Heights Memorial Library, Greek Fest, Irish Fest and much more! Of course, there is merry fun in Bristol too! Here are my picks this weekend:

  • July 12-13 Irish Fest, Arlington Heights Historical Museum, 4PM-11PM, Irish dance and music, food trucks, $5 pp, kids 3 and under are free

  • July 13 Heritage Local Farm Market Day, Spring Valley, Schaumburg, 9AM-12PM, market goods like farm fresh eggs, locally sourced meat and more for sale
  • July 13 Naperville Plays! Knoch Knolls, 9AM-12PM, hands-on craft activities with story telling, provided by DuPage Children's Museum, Naper Settlement, Naperville Public Library and Knoch Knolls Nature Center, free
  • July 13 Cardboard Boat Regatta, Des Plaines, 10AM-12PM, can you float your boat across Iroquois Pool? $15 NR, $12 resident, must register
  • July 13 Animal Quest, Mount Prospect Public Library, 11AM-11:45AM, discover live animals during an interactive presentation, free but registration is required
  • July 13 Fan Con and Pop Culture, Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 11AM-4PM, comic and pop culture fans rejoice!, AHML invites you to enjoy themed activities and hands-on activities, meet some of your favorite characters, come dressed up, meet artists and more; Jarrett Krosoczka author of Lunch Lady and Jedi Academy will be attending (he will present an illustrator workshop at 12:15 and author talk at 2 while signing books throughout the day); there will be a Mad Hatter Tea Party 11AM-11:45AM, register at Command Center at 10:30AM
  • July 13 11th Annual Fairy Festival, Womanspace, Rockford, 1PM-4PM, magical fairy items for the home, fairy dances, ceremonies and more, $10 pp, $15 at door but tickets recommended
