Biscuits. Pie. What could be better on a road trip than a stop to treat oneself with a meal of biscuits and pie. Cue Hot Hands Pie & Biscuit, a true must-visit destination in St. Paul, Minnesota. We visited not once but twice during a two day visit. Our treats delighted us so much that we almost made a third trip. Entirely true.

On our first morning in the St. Paul area, we anxiously awaited Hot Hands Pie & Biscuit opening for breakfast biscuits! We were planning to hike later, so surely we could treat ourselves to biscuits for breakfast! Hot Hands has a variety of biscuit varieties available including sandwiches, with gravy and more. Additionally, Hot Hands offers fresh baked sweet pies AND savory pot pies. Plus, we discovered additional pastries and a full range of coffee and hot tea options.

Hot Hands utilizes locally sourced ingredients, so there will be seasonal changes. During our first visit, we each ordered a classic biscuit which comes with butter and a seasonal spread which was a berry preserve. We also ordered a blackberry turnover. I forgot to take a picture of the blackberry turnover but it was entirely delicious!

We each ordered our own biscuits which we are grateful for because they were INCREDIBLE! Flaky, buttery and warm, the biscuits melted in our mouth and were pure heaven with the fresh preserves.

Heavenly Caramelized Peanut Butter Pie!

We loved the biscuits SO MUCH that we returned the next day for a biscuit to share and a slice of caramelized peanut butter pie. Oh.My.Goodness. The caramelized peanut butter pie was heavenly and I am glad that we shared a piece or we would have been in trouble! Thick and creamy with a bit of salt and texture due to the oatmeal cookie crust and caramelized peanuts, the pie was a symphony.

As you may surmise, we will be back to Hot Hands Pie & Biscuit on our next trip to Minnesota. Another element of fun, you can watch the bakers working through the glass. So, I am sure the kids will like to visit -- but you probably won't want to share your treats! Hot Hands also has biscuit mix to go which I may need to pick up next time. Really a fabulous small business with from scratching baking for you to explore on your next St. Paul visit!
