Walking the Holiday Tree Trail in St. Charles, Illinois

Walking the Holiday Tree Trail in St. Charles, Illinois

New traditions emerge as we craft a holiday season during these unusual times. During this holiday season, we have been encouraged to reimagine holiday celebrations and explore adventures we may not have in an ordinary year. Just like cities and towns across the country, St. Charles transformed its usual Holiday Homecoming Event to better accommodate these times. This year's holiday event features a cheerful Holiday Tree Trail crafted by local businesses and organizations. We were in the area this weekend, so we took a little stroll through St. Charles checking out the trees!

Strolling along 1st St. and the river front, we delighted in about 20 trees decorated by the community. Some were quite inventive; all left us with a smile on our face as we we enjoyed holiday fun and fresh air.

Kimmer's Ice Cream happens to be one of my favorite spots in St. Charles. Who doesn't love a scoop or two of locally churned ice cream? So, I did have to spy the Kimmer's tree!

However, my husband and I both agreed on our absolute favorite -- the holiday tree by Ginger Root Hair Salon! The tree immediately delighted us with creativity! Now I know what to do with my daughter's old dolls -- well, the heads that remain! Seriously, this tree is creative and fun!

Of course, I did have to locate the Pollyanna Brewing Company tree which certainly inspired grabbing a holiday pint!

We saw a few others that we really loved. However, I do not want to spoil the holiday excursion should you decide to stroll along the trail. However, I do recommend also checking out the windows at the St. Charles History Museum. They are seriously adorable!

The museum is an interesting spot and worthy of a visit when it is back open. The historic structure constructed in 1928 once was home to a gas station -- the McCornack Oil Company. The structure is pretty interesting to admire, so take a walk around when you visit.

When visiting, you can also spend some time exploring the small businesses of St. Charles picking up treats and gifts. Since we were in the area, we also ambled around Geneva as well. A cheerful little outing enjoying community spirit in St. Charles! The Holiday Tree Trail will be up throughout the holiday season.
